Flights

We’re at the Frankfurt airport waiting to board a 7 hour flight for Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

We’ll meet up with Vince and Julie Ward in Addis, and then fly with them on to Juba South Sudan.

We’re all feeling slightly sick today – my guess is our first dose of daily malaria medicine is messing up our systems. Please pray that we acclimate to this necessary evil as quickly as possible.

We had a wonderful visit with Nick and Theresa Bloom (and boys) today. Great to hear about their life and work as missionaries in Germany. We were able to sing Psalm 67B and 67C together. A huge encouragement to us.

In the weeks leading up to our trip, we felt much love, care, and support. Indeed, you have truly partnered with us. We know that many of you have been faithfully praying for us. Thank you! You are and have been an incredible encouragement and strength to us. We can’t do this without you!

Some of you have asked about finances and additional ways to support us in the work in Germany and S. Sudan, I’ll try to give you a little more information about our sending organizations so you’ll know better how to proceed.

Our Germany trip was with the mission organization E3. They are broadly evangelical. This is the same organization I went to Berlin with 2 years ago. Their strategy has been to partner with local “on the ground” missionaries. We seek to serve the mission of the full time folks, rather than start something new. For this trip we partnered with a multi-national non-denominational group called “church on the road.” They are co-led by a South Korean pastor and former imam from Pakistan. Though we have significant theological differences, their understanding of and emphasis of the Gospel is right on. They love Jesus, his Word, and people of all ethnicities. Those that would like to financially support our work in Germany can give to our local church: Tri Lakes Reformed Church, 1691 Woodmoor Dr., Monument, CO 80132.

For South Sudan, we are being sent by our local church and by our denominational mission organization: Reformed Presbyterian Global Missions (RPGM). We are very blessed to be partnered with a sending organization that is so closely alligned with us theologically. As I’m able, I’ll post more about the mission and vision and team in South Sudan.

RPGM will be covering a big chunk of our S. Sudan expenses. This is a huge blessing for us, and a huge expense for RPGM. Please consider further partnering with us by helping RPGM continue vital kingdom work. We have set up a fundraising page for Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America – https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/2136365

I’m sorry to be way behind on blog posts. If I can’t sleep on this flight, I’ll post a few more thoughts on our time in Germany.

Thank you!!
